In Mission:Music’s 18th episode, the BB podcast guys are met by two ladies, Clementine & Jessica. The five talk about the origins of their artist names, cacao, and play a bunch of music/talk about it. Mission:Music is hosted by Stefan Aronsen of Balanced Breakfast, Jason Hunter of Great Highway, and Cory Zechmann of Silence Nogood.
Clementine Darling is a Folk Singer-Songwriter making waves in San Francisco’s music scene. Originally from Seattle, Washington, she busked her way down the West Coast in 2010 on a road trip that led her to put down roots in San Francisco’s North Bay— Sonoma County, California. The two locals heavily influenced her first two albums— Americana Folk songs and Indie ballads, with undertones of Seattle’s 90’s grunge. Clementine has played festivals including The Emerald Cup, sharing the bill with Margo Price and Rising Appalachia, as well as SXSW, Railroad Square Music Festival and Balanced BreakFEST.
Sometimes light, sometimes dark, Strictly Elizabeth is both a hymn to her and a psalm to silence. At times, heavy, at other times dreamy, Strictly Elizabeth is musical and lyrical complexity and contradiction. A meeting of soft and dreamy, a caterwaul of post-punk grooves that will move you. This ‘both/and’ mentality is the fulcrum of her creative world. Her yin and yang of sweet and vicious confessions both cuts and soothes you. It’s music you won’t soon forget.
