As I wake up on the floor of a random house in Spokane… I started thinking to myself how
“rock & roll” this is!!!
Last night we played a show at The Kave in Spokane. We had not scheduled a place to sleep after the Spokane show and before our 8-hour drive to the Seattle show. In truth, we never really knew where we were going to sleep after shows! Most of us simply accepted that we would be sleeping in the frigid car again. However, after this show, we were graciously invited to stay with the sound guy in his apartment… which was approximately 10 minutes from the venue. To my surprise and pleasure, he not only invited our band (I The Mighty) but A Lot Like Birds as well! This meant the sound guy invited 2 bands on tour, w/ 12 band members to sleep in the living room of his house, which already housed 4 roommates, a girlfriend, and a dog! AWESOME!
That night we ate frozen pizzas, made huge sandwiches, and I ate the girlfriend’s leftovers. For entertainment… and laughs… the sound guy put Rambo 5 in his DVD player. It was then that I realized this was not the first… nor the last time I was going to have an interesting sleeping experience while on tour with I The Mighty.
