Behind The Mynd Celebrates Shaun Lamar and The Introduction of LongPlaya!

One of my favorite broadcasts to date was the introduction of my very first Comedian/Musician named Shaun Lamar. If you are familiar with MutinyRadio programming, then you’ll notice Shaun proliferated throughout the broadcast schedule. He hosts his own show called Don’t Talk Black as well as SFDope and Strange Fruit: Hangin’ with Shaun Lamar.

This broadcast was immensely entertaining to be a part of. Shaun and I slide right into the conversation and I love getting the scoop on his past, and of course, having him share his musical talents. Please enjoy!

The Birth of LongPlaya

LongPlaya is MutinyRadio’s reinstated broadcasting idea, wherein a different Mutiny Radio DJ picks an album to review, to breakdown and generally share with the masses. I had the pleasure of doing a dual DJ dissection with Shaun and he chose to share “100 Miles and Running” by Wale.

I had never even heard the name Wale (pronounced Wah-Lay) before, but let me tell ya, by the end of this mixtape I was a full-blown fan. The absolute best part about it….it’s free to download. That’s right. Brilliant beats, fantastic flows, and wondrous wordplay, Wale is one of those artists that make you say, “Damn, why haven’t I heard of him until now!”  Please enjoy the first iteration of LongPlaya, feating Wale ~ 100 Miles & Running.
