San Francisco Band Tycho Releases New Album, “WEATHER”

Tycho played a secret pop-up concert performance last week at The Independent. In addition, they released their new album WEATHER, a meer 24 hours prior to the show. What was pitched as an intimate performance for fans ended up being a sold-out experience with people flowing into the balcony. It was a one-band bill, and Tycho played two unique sets. For the first half of their show they played music from their last five-albums, the second half was dedicated to a complete performance of WEATHER, featuring the official concert debut of vocalist Saint Sinner (a.k.a. Hannah Cottrell).

It was Tycho’s first show in San Francisco since they played Outside Lands in 2018. Now that they’ve emerged from the studio they will embark on an extensive world tour that will take the band well into 2020. They will play Sydney Opera House, Japan’s Fuji Rock Festival, the Greek Theatre in both Los Angeles and Berkeley, and New York City’s SummerStage in Central Park.

If you’re used to listening to Tycho with no vocals, you might be pleasantly surprised to experience their new sound will incorporate the live vocals of Saint Sinner. The tour will include longtime Tycho collaborators Zac Brown (bass and guitar), Rory O’Connor (drums), and Billy Kim (keyboards, guitar, and bass) and Hannah Cottrell (Saint Sinner) traveling as Tycho’s first touring vocalist.

Poolside will support on all headline dates beginning September 6 at the Greek Theatre in Berkeley, CA; Chrome Sparks will support September 5 at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles. For updates and ticket availability, visit: tychomusic.com
