Listen to San Francisco Band Agouti’s New Song Chameleon

If you follow your local music scene long enough you’ll find that band names change, band members move on, and the whole scene morphs and becomes different every year. I’ve watched the Bay Area scene now for eight years. Thus I have seen a lot of shows, met tons of band and experienced loads of change.

For example, I met Carmen Caruso about 3 years ago when she had a project called Odd Owl. (At the time it seemed like all bands had an owl in their name.) I was there when she put that project to sleep and started playing keys for Taxes and then didn’t. You may also recognize her from playing keys for Jared Swanson’s band Abbot Kinney. When she created Capybara and had to change the name to Agouti, I heard all about the problems with Last.fm. You could say I’ve seen her grow a lot musically, thus I am super excited to see her current band Agouti play on May the 4th at Elbo Room.

Check out their newest single, it’s bound to convince you to join me at the show. I think you’ll hear all the inspirations of playing music in the Bay Area.
