Cigarettes After Sex Played at The Fox in Oakland On October 1st

Cigarettes After Sex will release their much-anticipated sophomore album – Cry – on October 25th via Partisan Records. The album was recorded during night time sessions in a mansion on the Spanish island of Mallorca. It has been described as a lush, cinematic meditation on the many complex facets of love – meeting, wanting, needing, losing … sometimes all at once.

Is your curiosity peaked? You can listen to the album highlight “Heavenly” now.
 Cigarettes After Sex – “Heavenly”

I was at The Fox on October 1st to capture their set. The band started their set strong and finished strong … they even returned for an encore. However, to my shock and perhaps the shock of many others in the building, there were no opening bands. Thus fans were in an out of the Fox Oakland in under two hours. I entered at 8PM and was back on the street by 10PM. If I wanted … I could have gone to bed before midnight. (I didn’t) The band was great, but I expected more from the show.
