Music Producer and Filmmaker, Flynt Flossy (of Turquoise Jeep Records) releases a visual to “Rough Month” a single off of his latest critically acclaimed EP “Perplexed Portrait.” He teams up with RnB juggernaut Whatchya and the unapologetically funky Oakland band, Planet Booty.
“Whatchya would often mention to me ‘Yo! We need to collab with Planet Booty on a record! They’re DOPE and cool AF! ‘ We were on the same page, I definitely knew they were super talented. Just had to be the right song. So while we were producing “Rough Month” my gut told me, this just might be the one. And boy was it… because when I heard the version after they added their sauce, I was like OH SH** this record is a SMASH! To the moon!!” — Flynt Flossy
Bay Area band Planet Booty has had a few releases of their own during this pandemic. BB recently covered their most recent track, Dancing in My Bedroom. Fans of Planet Booty and Turquoise Jeep and going to love this collaboration between Flyt Flossy and Whatchyamacallit.
“We have been huge fans of Flynt Flossy and Whatchyamacallit since their days with Turquoise Jeep and early Youtube stardom. We have played many shows with them over the years and while they started out as inspirations for us they have evolved into friends. Still, we just about jumped out of our britches when they asked us to collaborate on a track with them. It not only felt like a major achievement for us but when they wanted to make this into a music video it was like our personal lifetime achievement award. They are some of the most humble and down to earth people we have met in the industry and they put on one of the best live shows we’ve ever had the privilege of seeing. We recorded and filmed everything thousands of miles apart but thanks to the wizardry of Flynt Flossy the process was seamless and the result speaks for itself. It’s a gift to meet like-minded artists whose primary goal is to spread joy and fun every way they go and we look forward to the day when we can share the same stage again.” — Dylan Charles Germick of Planet Booty
