Davis Lukrich joined Balanced Breakfast in 2014 when he was still living in San Francisco, and going by the moniker Growwler. He was a regular on my podcast at Mutiny Radio, and I could always count on him to throw a rager of a concert on his favorite holiday, Halloween. Some time ago Davis moved away from San Francisco in search of greener pastures and inspiration for new songs. What he found was new music and a new band name, I am pleased to introduce you to his new project, Davis IL.
“It’s been a minute since the group put out new music but I’m over the moon to announce the wait is over. The band has a new song! Listen & watch it now! Coinciding with the new release is a new name. Growwler will now be known as Davis IL.” – Davis Lukrich
Check out the newest song by Davis IL. I still love this dude even though he moved away from San Francisco, and I don’t get to see him on a regular basis. Comment below if you like what you hear.

BIO
Davis IL is the sound of Northern + Southern California joining forces. Starting in the San Francisco scene of the 2010s with the band Growwler, a move to Los Angeles segued work as a sideman. Backing up a gamut of artists from outlaw country songstress Jaime Wyatt to cumbia psych band Tropa Magica, he soaked up mixed musical directions all along the way. Further, a calling as a studio co-writer presented more collaborations for the craft. All this making the current offering from Davis IL an intriguing byproduct of these periods. Proving that what we pay attention to- especially in 2020- tells us about who we are.
“This is gonna be a fun record. At times harrowing, at times beautiful—with soaring vocals over hard-edged, succulent rhythms— at other times simply sounding like the love child of Ozzy and Elton. These are songs to accompany us through fraught times and give us a bit of hope on the other end.” —Dan Stone, writer and founder of Radio Silence magazine
