In 14 days we visited 7.5 states and played 11 shows. Which as you can imagine means we spent a lot of time in the van.
Our tour started in San Francisco at Bottom of The Hill, the next day we were in Portland at Branx followed by shows in Seattle, Idaho, Utah, Colorado, Wyoming & Nebraska. We didn’t have any shows in Iowa, but when we were in Omaha, Nebraska we were so close that we decided we had to cross the border. (You know… so we could say we’d been there!)
In life… sleep is mandatory… while on tour… sleeping is a luxury!!! (So are showers, clean toilets, home cooked meals!) So needless to say… we spent a lot of time in the van!!! Thus sleeping became a very creative endeavor. Very quickly one learns to sleep sitting up, curled up, on a bench on the floor and in some random person’s house!
The none glamorous side of touring is all the time spent not on stage! Ask a musician about his tour and he’ll say he’s craving sleep, a shower and a full night sleep not in the van! Ask them if they’re having fun… and they’ll surely say “HELL YEAH!”
So what do you think?
I’d love your feedback!
