Axelsen also co-founded in 1996 one of the country’s longest-running weekly indie parties Popscene –which currently takes place Friday’s at Rickshaw Stop, San Francisco- and is where artists like Flume, Phoenix, Muse, Amy Winehouse, Calvin Harris, Mumford and Sons, Vampire Weekend, Sam Smith, Lily Allen, The Killers, Glass Animals, Florence + The Machine, Alt-J, Foals, Arctic Monkeys, etc, all made their SF debuts.

Finally, Aaron has been a fixture on the Bay Area airwaves hosting the long-running weekly new music show SOUNDCHECK, which airs Sunday’s 9 PM – 12 AM on ALT 1053. This seminal new music radio show features new and emerging artists, future hits, indie rock and also, prominently showcases the very best from the local music scene.
