Balanced Breakfast is excited to announce that applications are now open for BALANCED BREAKFEST | AUSTIN SHOWCASE our Unofficial SXSW 2026 Showcases, taking place Friday and Saturday, March 13th–14th at Woody’s Bar in Austin. We will host two days of live music in the heart of West 6th, featuring a mix of full bands, solo artists, and special Songwriters in the Round sessions. The Friday showcase will run from 4:00–10:00 PM, and the Saturday showcase will run from 1:00–10:00 PM. From the applications we receive, we will select 11 bands and 24 solo artists. All applicants will be contacted via email once final decisions are made.
Approved bands will receive a 40-minute set time, and each day will begin with two “Singers in the Round” sessions featuring three artists per round. A second stage inside the venue will host solo artists between band sets, creating continuous music throughout the event. The showcase is fully backlined with drums, guitar and bass amps, and complete sound equipment including mics, PAs, and monitors. Artists may sell merch on-site, and all showcases are free to attend and 21+. Please note that we do not book DJs for these showcases, and applying does not guarantee placement.
Applications require a $10 fee and must be submitted through our official form. Before applying, please note that bands who performed at our 2025 showcases should wait until 2027 to apply again—we want to give as many artists as possible the opportunity to perform. We would still love to see you in the audience in 2026!
